LAUGHTER YOGA / WORKOUT / THERAPY

Recently, I came back from India and learn Laughter Yoga, IN-PERSON with its Founder, Dr. Madan Kataria. Even though my research work is more on the Humour Research & Cognitive Psychology but, by attending this course has open up my mind that WE CAN LAUGH WITHOUT REASON !!! ... . . . . . . I wish I could write more... but something hold me back .... so I just copied one of the five reasons why LAUGHTER YOGA is important... and the ONE that I choose is that ... WE DONT NEED SENSE OF HUMOR TO LAUGH ... . . . . We Don’t Need Sense Of Humor To Laugh . . . What is the relationship between a sense of humor and laughter? Is it possible to laugh for no reason? Most people believe that one must have a sense of humor to laugh but Laughter Yoga has proven otherwise. No one is born with a sense of humor, which is the brain’s capacity to perceive, relate, and experience a situation and judge if the situation is funny or not. We acquire this judgmental skill as our mental abilities develop during mid and late childhood. Sense of humor is a very mental and intellectual phenomena. Laughter arising out of humor is conditional. It depends upon the person’s intellectual ability, state of mind and level of happiness and life satisfaction. But laughter can be achieved unconditionally. Children laugh without any mental or cognitive ability to aid them in comprehending humor. Most of their laughter is an outcome of playfulness and inherent joyfulness. To develop the ability to laugh joyfully once again, adults must remove layers of inhibition, programming and mental roadblocks created by self, family, and society. Beneath these barriers lies an infinite ability to laugh for no reason. Teaching an inhibited person to develop a sense of humor is like flushing a drain blocked with rocks and rubble. Once the rubble is removed, water will start flowing. Similarly, mental inhibition and shyness is like rubble that blocks our sense of humor. Laughter Yoga facilitates this cleaning process. As years of programming are cleared, natural joyful laughter inside of us is released and begins to flow. Laughter Yoga techniques are effective even for people who have lost their laughter or have absolutely no sense of humor. People often say, “I am depressed”, “I cannot laugh”, or “I don’t feel like laughing”. We tell them, “It doesn’t matter. Just bring us your willing body and we will make you laugh.” Once released, natural laughter is hard to stop. Even in a country like India where we don’t have a great tradition of humor and comedy, hundreds of thousands of people laugh daily in public parks. People, who never smiled, now laugh at small things. They have also started telling jokes and acting funny - something they never did before. Playfulness has helped to develop their sense of humor and has brought more laughter to their lives. In fact, laughter and humor share a cause-and-effect relationship. They are in unison and cannot be separated. One leads to another. Sometimes humor is the cause, which is more mental and cognitive, while the effect is laughter - more of a physical phenomenon. In Laughter Clubs, laughter is the cause and the effect is humor. I realized that most people do not identify with a sense of humor. They find it easier to laugh physically in a group. This has led to the growing popularity of Laughter Clubs. So, even if you don’t have sense of humor, don’t worry. Just join a Laughter Club and you will soon develop one *********************** WE HAD CONDUCTED FEW EXPERIMENTS IN USING THIS TECHNIQUE FOR MALAY RESPONDENTS ... WOW !!! IT WAS HILLARIOUS -----> of course .. without any reason! haha hoho haha hoho VERY GOOD VERY GOOD YEAAAHHHHHH

"Crap" is a bad word?

Hmm how and where should I start... THe word 'crap' oftenly used by people who are overwhelmed with life... you know may be too stressed up with life or may be being push over the limit.. so people alway come to see me just to share how dissaponted they were with certain things.. and frequently addressed their experience as 'crap' ... so its normal .. in this 'profession' especially is oftenly heard.... and the word 'crap' refers to the feeling of unwanted.. bad..taken for granted.. thrown like rubbish... as so on... Well, I know that the the word “crap” is pretty low but again it is depending on the context. Grow up .... times have changed... today people use“crap” to refer to “stuff,” .. you know.. things that you cannot utter in public .... because its regarded as 'vulgar' as waht 'crap' traditionally meant. “’Is crap bad word?” some one came to me in the morning... That question could be answered in the perspective of TESL or BENL students or from a perspective of a practitioer like me... The way I understand it, crap also can mean “defecate” (or “defecation”) which is not considered profane or vulgar. And it WAS considered vulgar .. perhaps back to the mediavel latin 'crappa' or residue or waste ... and these people prime their mind the word 'waste' as per 'human waste' or 'shit' (hmmmm tangan kat bahu, mata naik ke atas...ayooo singkat nya fikiran mu) Dont they even think that 'crap' also means trash ?? some one who are neglected by the society can simply got crap right? they feel like trash ... so normal laa kan??? and I wonder why sampai nak kecoh kecoh just to tell others that the term was wrongly used? Oh please laa... get back to work !

My Heaven

Experience traveling around the world has given me the opportunity to acquire creativity in life. Its in the way how I represent myself to the world. And being a person that is most of the time calm, and relax but could be very strong personality and determination in life, has lead my passion to decorate my life space WHITE.
To visit Flea markets, garage sales or even thrift stores are a must for me each time I travel abroad. Its like a tunnel of inspiration see the items and while wondering into the shops, my mind is transforming the items directly to my house. The goods may only come with old painted style but my mind can make it a harmonious combination when it comes to my own interior design skills.
I always think white... for my culture sometimes white is relate to the sorrow, gloomy and death even though it could also mean spiritual strength, purification and perfection. But the infuse of white color could be dated even more metaphysical way.
As far as I remember, I seldom ended my traveling with huge paper bags of branded handbags, shirts, shoes or perfumes as most people do (even though sometime I do!!). Major attractions are on collectible items like spoon, mini mugs/jugs, unique and authentic classic items or it could be only a wooden spoon but with a craft that is significant to me.. or even a piece of paper or an old book with a signature of the writer could be so priceless to me. Exposing my collections does not mean being show off but it gives me pleasure and put them out to enjoy.
Most importantly, that I want to emphasize is the comfort feeling. A little thing will change the look instantly!

Wadi Hussien

Alhamdulillah, it was an ad hoc plan ... my parents were here as their monthly visit to our 'Wadi Khalju' ... and lots of things have been done... we repaired the water hose, piping, met the workshop man to see the progress of our car ... changed the absorber for Abang Naza .... and finally, to make abah happy, we decided to take him to meet his old good friend, a famous political writer, S.H. Al-Attas or known as Pak Habib.

Since I was small, his books were everywhere in our little library at the attic... most of the books were in RED ! and I have starting reading his book when I was in primary school.. at that time I won few writing competition at school ..... and having said that, silently I said to myself, one day I will become a writer .. I want to be like this person!! (VERANGAN derrrr...... but alhamdulillah....... VERANGAN comes true kan? kekekekek)

When we arrived, he was already there... with RED cowboy hat and RED jeans with Kemeja kotak kotak ... just like my dad .... kekekekekkee oldtimer laa katakan.... kekekekekek.......They started chit chat ..... and we were wondering in his Hana Garden.....
